After finishing her education, Karen originally planned to become an air stewardess. However, when she was offered a position within the NHS, she discovered a new passion for finance a career path she’s continued to grow in ever since.
In 2001, Karen took a break from work to welcome her son, later returning part-time in payroll at a large can-making factory before moving into accounts at a construction company. No matter where her career took her, she always found herself drawn back to finance and payroll much to her parents’ amusement, given her dislike of maths at school!
After welcoming her daughter in 2007, Karen returned to a payroll position that balanced perfectly with family life, a role she enjoyed for many years. As her daughter prepared for secondary school, she began thinking about her longer-term career goals and joined a mortgage broker, where she spent eight years progressing to Office Manager. There, she discovered what she truly loved most supporting others, being approachable, and helping colleagues do their best work.
Karen joined LionHart in December 2024 as Operations Manager, her first role focused entirely on people and process. Working closely with business owner Charles Hart, she plays a key role in shaping operations and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the company.
Outside work, Karen’s enjoying a new chapter her son has moved into his own home, and her daughter has started university. She’s recently joined a local gym (and loves it who knew!) and enjoys catching up with friends over a glass of Prosecco. A keen traveller, she’s always planning the next holiday much to her husband’s amusement and despair!
