Becky didn’t set out to be a mortgage broker. In fact, she once dreamed of becoming an architect, until a teacher kindly suggested she “explore other horizons.” So, she did.
Her first taste of finance came via a part-time role, handling PPI claims. That evolved (briefly and painfully) into a call centre job she hated but it also opened the door to the advisor department, where she got stuck into admin and decision in principles. Determined to make it further, Becky paid for her own CeMAP qualification and worked her way up to broker status.
After five years there, she took a bold pay cut to join a specialist brokerage keen to understand more lenders and learn the admin ropes inside-out. That year of graft paid off, and she’s since built her expertise and reputation.
Outside of work, she’s a self-confessed homebody… at least until May hits. From then on, she can usually be found in a pub garden on a Friday or dancing at a music festival, sun (hopefully) on her face and pint in hand.
