Sam wasn’t quite sure what she wanted to do when she left school. She began her career as an Accounts Assistant, where she spent two years and met her husband. Soon after, she joined C&G and trained to become a broker, a role she has enjoyed for over 20 years.
Seven months after qualifying, Sam had her eldest son. On 12th December, which funnily later on became her wedding anniversary, she passed her CeMAP qualification. After taking some time out to focus on her family, she returned to work as a Mortgage Advisor, later welcoming two more boys. Over the years, Sam has gained extensive experience working with both high street lenders and brokerages.
As a mum of three energetic boys, Sam is always on the go. Through her stepdad, she discovered a love for rugby and even converted her football-mad husband and sons into rugby enthusiasts. After spending countless hours watching her boys play, Sam decided to take to the field herself. In 2023, she founded Onstouch Ladies, a touch rugby team born from a group of mums on the sidelines who thought, “We can do that too.”
What began as a hobby quickly grew into something more like a supportive community where women empower each other both on and off the pitch. Today, Onstouch Ladies has grown to over 40 members and proudly finished 4th in the National League Touch this year. Sam was also recognised as a Rose of Northampton for her contribution to growing women’s sport.
When she’s not working or playing rugby, Sam can usually be found outdoors. She loves exploring new places, having already climbed the Three Peaks, and she’s now preparing for the Tour du Mont Blanc hike in 2026 and 2027. Always seeking adventure, she’s known among friends and family for finding the best holiday spots whether paddleboarding on the French lakes or relaxing in a hot tub surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
